Dear participants,

we are already reaching the last session of our seminar. While you are working on your ideas how to defend civic space, we are already preparing the evaluation forms and your certificates.

For our session on wednesday, both the IFLRY President Ahmad Rahwani and IFLRY Executive Director Hussam Al Erhayel will join us to watch your presentations and provide you with valuable feedback.

If you still have questions for the presentations, feel free to reach out to us. In general, try focusing on the main aspects, explain what needs to be explained about the problem and then convince your audience with the condensed idea of how to solve it!

We will also have Andras Lederer joining us. Andras is based in Budapest and works for the Hungarian Helsinki Committee (HHC) as a senior advocacy officer.

The Hungarian Helsinki Committee is a non-governmental watchdog organization that protects the rule of law and human dignity through legal and public advocacy methods. It has been at the forefront of the fight to uphold human rights in Hungary, most notably through their refugee protection programme. HHC is the only organization that provides free legal assistance to asylum seekers in Hungary and they have successfully upheld basic rights of asylum seekers at the European Court of Justice against measures by the Hungarian government. Andras will talk about what it is like to work in a country with limited civic space and constant threats by the government and how his organization has fought back and built up enormous resilience. He will also listen to your project pitches and give his opinion on your work!

You can find more information on the HHC on Twitter and their website.

We are looking forward to our closing session with you!
